Ιs a simple "thank you" enough? When it comes to health, perhaps it's not—but when it comes from the heart of a patient who overcame a major life-threatening condition, it becomes essential to express it in every possible way.
We feel deeply obliged to extend our heartfelt thanks to Vascular Surgeon Dr. Nikos Doulas, Interventional Radiologist Dr. Giorgos Papageorgiou, and their entire support team at Metropolitan Hospital, who stood by our loved one during the successful opening of a carotid artery that was 90% blocked—while the second had already been lost due to a 100% occlusion.
We would also like to warmly thank the Head of Nursing, Ms. Rena Manousaki, for her moving concern, as well as the nurses of the 2nd floor ward, where we spent one night for observation, for their kindness and willingness to assist us in every way.
We must also note that our first experience with a private hospital, such as Metropolitan Hospital—an option made necessary due to the complexity of the patient's comorbidities—was a pleasant surprise. The services provided were flawless at all levels, from scientific expertise to housekeeping. We would like to point out that while the prices can be considered reasonable relative to the high level of services provided, they remain accessible to only a few—fewer still in the wake of the financial crisis that continues to affect the middle class, once the backbone of the Greek economy.
Finally, we express our deep gratitude to our beloved guardian angels—both heavenly and earthly—who protected the health of our loved one. Please allow us not to name them.
