Profile
Christos Kallianos is a Cardiologist and Interventional Electrophysiologist who has held a PhD from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA) Medical School since 2006. He graduated from the NKUA Medical School in 2002 with a degree awarded with a grade of “Very Good.” He has extensive experience in interventional electrophysiology, having pursued advanced clinical training and specialization at Clinique Pasteur in Toulouse, France, and at a University Hospital in Lyon, France, where he completed a hands-on fellowship supported by a scholarship from the Hellenic Society of Cardiology.
He previously served as Head of the Electrophysiology Laboratory at Clinique Saint Esquirol in Agen, France, and at the Mediterranean Hospital of Cyprus. He also served as a Consultant Cardiologist in the First Department of Cardiology at Evangelismos General Hospital in Athens.
He has extensive experience in performing the full spectrum of cardiac device implantation procedures, including pacemakers, implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICDs), cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) devices, leadless pacemakers, subcutaneous implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (S-ICDs), and implantable cardiac monitors. His expertise also encompasses electrophysiological studies and catheter ablation procedures for all types of cardiac arrhythmias, including supraventricular and ventricular arrhythmias, as well as accessory pathway-related arrhythmias, using a wide range of advanced electrophysiology technologies and mapping systems, such as AFFERA, NAVx, CARTO, PFA, and RHYTHMIA.
He has participated in numerous scientific conferences and educational events as a speaker and discussant, focusing on cardiac electrophysiology and pacing.
He holds postgraduate qualifications in Interventional Electrophysiology from Claude Bernard University Lyon, Cardiac Intensive Care from the University of Toulouse, and Advanced Echocardiographic Techniques from the University of Bordeaux.
His approach to patient care is holistic and patient-centered, emphasizing comprehensive assessment and individualized treatment. He prioritizes exploring all appropriate pharmacological treatments and lifestyle and dietary interventions before considering any invasive procedure. Decisions regarding interventional treatment are made collaboratively with each patient, ensuring that the chosen approach aligns with their individual needs and clinical condition.
