I was born in Spathari, District of Gortynia, Arcadia, Greece on 23.01.1950. I graduated from the First Practical Male High School in Tripoli and, later, I enrolled as a first-year student at the Medical School of the University of Athens in 1970, where I graduated in 1977.
As a medical student, I was a scholarship holder of the Ministry of Education. I served my military service from 1977 to July 1979. Then, I did my rural service at the Rural Clinic of Eratini, Fokida.
From 1981 to 1983, I practiced Pathology, first, at the Mantzavinatio Hospital of Kefalonia Island and afterwards, at the General State Hospital of Athens.
From 1983 to 1987, I practiced Endocrinology at the "POLYCLINIC OF ATHENS". I obtained my specialty title in Endocrinology on 05.11.1987.
In February (10.02.1988), I was appointed to the National Health System (N.H.S.) as a Specialty Registrar in the Endocrinology Department of the Peripheral General Hospital of Nikaia (P.G.Η.N.) "DAMON VASILEIOU". During my work at the above Hospital, I pioneered the creation - organization and operation of the Endocrinology Clinic, which did not exist until then. I participated in the training program of the General Medicine Residents and I also conducted courses – seminars in Gynaecological Endocrinology to the Interns of the Gynaecological Clinic. I ran classes related to Pediatric Endocrinology and training courses to the nursing staff, as well. Finally, I observed all the children with Thalassemia who underwent regular transfusions in the respective department of the Hospital.
I left the General State Hospital of Nikaia, Piraeus on September 22, 1997 and I have been in charge of the Endocrinology Department of the "METROPOLITAN" Hospital since January 2002.
