Dr. Anastasia Chalikia was born and raised in Piraeus, where she still lives today. She graduated from the Medical School of the University of Ioannina and went on to complete her residency at Metaxa and Tzaneio Hospitals, earning her specialty in Internal Medicine.
She has been part of the medical team at Metropolitan Hospital since 2002, steadily advancing from Registrar to her current role as Director of the Internal Medicine Clinic.
Dr. Chalikia has long-standing experience in caring for patients with both acute and chronic conditions. She is particularly engaged in Geriatric Medicine, supporting elderly patients with multiple health challenges, while also focusing on diabetes, infections, and complex multifactorial diseases. Her approach places great importance on personalized outpatient treatment and the close, ongoing monitoring of her patients’ health.
Beyond hospital care, she also provides medical support at home for patients living with chronic illnesses or reduced mobility, always aiming to maintain quality of life and independence.
Alongside her clinical work, Dr. Chalikia regularly participates in training programs, scientific activities, and conferences, with a strong commitment to staying up to date and further developing her expertise.
