The research project in collaboration with the 2nd Neurological Clinic of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, includes:
- participation in primary research, with Greek data, in 5 (five) international multicenter studies with funded and non-funded research protocols and
- participation in 21 systematic reviews and meta-analyses of randomized trial data on ischemic stroke
Scientific Interests
Academic expertise and high experience (thousands of interventions of highly complex cases since 1998) in the most advanced endovascular interventions for a range of neuro-vascular conditions:
- cerebral aneurysms,
- brain arteriovenous malformations (BAVMs) and dural arteriovenous fistulas (DAVFs),
- carotid and intracranial stenoses,
- spinal cord arteriovenous malformations and dural fistulas,
- pre-surgical embolization of brain and spinal tumors,
- venous stenting in idiopathic intracranial hypertension and pulsatile tinnitus,
- embolization of spinal CSF-venous fistulas in intracranial hypotension,
- middle meningeal artery embolization in chronic subdural hematomas.
- treatment of Vascular and Lymphatic Malformations of the Head and Neck, with Bleomycin sclerotherapy Electroporation (BEST)
- treatment of vascular diseases in newborns and children (such as arteriovenous malformations of the vein of Galen)
Honors and Awards
Since 2017, multiple Golden and Platinum "Angel Awards" for stroke care for providing excellence in stroke treatment.
Accreditation of Metropolitan Stroke Unit by the European Stroke Organisation (ESO) in 2017 and 2023.
