Clinical Experience
12/1985 – 11/1986: Served as a military doctor during military service at the 104 NEF (National Guard Hospital) in Cyprus.
11/1986 – 5/1987: Served as rural doctor (rural service) at Karies, Lakonia.
5/1987 – 2/1989: Started residency training at the General Hospital of Nikaia-Piraeus, as a general surgeon.
3/1989 – 10/1989: Continued rural service at the rural hospital of Epidaurus.
11/1989 – 3/1994: Completed residency program at the General Hospital of Athens, at the Department of Neurosurgery under the guidance of Dr. Rologis (Chief of department), where he obtained significant experience both in the clinical and surgical field. During the last year of training, he was responsible for the treatment of Neurosurgical ICU patients (aneurysms, skull base tumors etc.).
9/1993 – 4/1994: During residency training, he was working on shifts as a neurosurgeon at the Hygeia Private Hospital.
9/1994: Board Certification of Neurosurgery from the Municipality of Piraeus.
10/1994 – 6/1995: Worked as a certified neurosurgeon at the Iatriko Kentro Athinon (Athens Medical Center).
7/1995 – 1998: Scientific associate Neurosurgeon of the Municipal Hospital of Kerkyra, where he treated a large number of patients conservatively (skull fractures, spine fractures, cerebral contusions), while 20 patients where treated surgically at a private hospital in Kerkyra.
4/1998 – 4/1999: Worked as a registered neurosurgeon at Metaxa Hospital, where he treated numerous cases and participated in a large number of surgical operations.
4/1999 – 3/2003: Worked as a registered neurosurgeon at Hygeia Private Hospital, where he participated in a large number of surgical operations. He was also a member of the International Neuroloradiogy team.
10/2001 – 10/2002: In charge of neurosurgical cases at the private clinic IASIS-Athens Medical Center.
1994 – 2004: PhD at the Pathology Department of Medical School of Athens under the title “Anosohistochemical analysis of Cerebral tumors”.
7/2003 – Today: Assistant Consultant at the Neurosurgery Department of Metropolitan Hospital, Athens, Greece. During this period, he had been President of the Scientific Committee of the hospital and for the 6-year period (between 2003 and 2009) he was in charge of the Neuro-ICU where serious cases where treated.
