Dr. Antonios Vaseiliadis is a Consultant Hand Surgeon based in Athens, specialising in orthopaedic and traumatic conditions of the upper limb.
From 1986 to 1991, he received training in Orthopaedic Surgery, initially at the Athens Naval Hospital (1986–1988), followed by the Orthopaedic Clinic of Athens University (1988–1991).
Between February 1992 and August 1993, he worked at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Oxford, UK, as a member of the Hand Clinic under the supervision of Mr. Peter Burge.
Upon returning to Athens, he served as a Fellow at the Hand Surgery & Reconstructive Microsurgery Clinic at Athens Trauma Hospital, working under the supervision of Mr. Nick Daoutis. During this period, he completed his PhD dissertation on the “Treatment of unstable nonunions of the carpal scaphoid according to the Herbert technique.”
From 1999 to 2001, he held the position of Junior Consultant at the same clinic, Hand Surgery & Reconstructive Microsurgery, Athens Trauma Hospital.
In 2001, together with his mentor Nick Daoutis, they founded the Department of Hand Surgery and Microsurgery at Metropolitan Hospital, which continues to provide 24/7 coverage for all upper limb orthopaedic conditions and trauma.
Since then, Dr. Vasileiadis has been working as a Consultant Hand Surgeon, managing a wide range of orthopaedic and traumatic conditions affecting the hand and upper limb.
He is a full member of the Hellenic Society for Surgery of the Hand, the Hellenic Society of Reconstructive Microsurgery, and the Federation of European Societies for Surgery of the Hand.
