Dr. Eleni Kokkotou is a Pulmonologist–Tuberculosis Specialist with a subspecialty in Thoracic Oncology. She is a PhD Candidate at the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA), focusing on the prognostic and predictive value of serum angiogenic growth factors in patients with Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC) receiving immunotherapy. She also holds a Master of Science (MSc) in Thoracic Oncology.
She runs a private medical practice office in Neo Faliro, Piraeus. She has served as a scientific associate in the Clinical Trials Unit of the Oncology Department of the 3rd Academic Internal Medicine Clinic at “Sotiria” Chest Hospital, as well as at the private hospital “HYGEIA”. She has extensive clinical experience in managing patients with thoracic malignancies and a wide range of respiratory diseases including COPD, bronchial asthma, respiratory infections, and bronchiectasis.
She has been actively involved in undergraduate education, teaching 4th- and 6th-year medical students at NKUA and participates in the Postgraduate Program “Thoracic Oncology: Modern Clinical–Laboratory Approach and Research,” contributing to the training of future medical professionals.
Her scientific work includes publications in peer-reviewed international journals and over 50 presentations at national and international conferences (ERS, WCLC, ELCC, IASLC). She has actively participated in multicenter research protocols and has served as a sub-investigator in numerous clinical trials in lung cancer.
Dr. Kokkotou is a member of the European Respiratory Society, IASLC, Hellenic Thoracic Society, Hellenic Lung Cancer Society (ELEKAP), and other scientific organizations. She holds certifications in Advanced Life Support (ALS) and Thoracic Ultrasound and is fluent in English and French.
