Dr. Anna Vrettou is a Radiologist specialized in Breast Imaging, with extensive clinical and academic experience. She graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Rome “La Sapienza” in 1999 and subsequently obtained her specialization in Radiology in Athens in 2005. In 2006, she completed a second-level Master in Senology at the University of Milan, in collaboration with the European Institute of Oncology (IEO), where she gained in-depth training in advanced breast imaging techniques, including mammography, ultrasound, MRI, and interventional procedures such as ROLL and SNOLL.
Upon her return to Greece, she was appointed Head of the Breast Imaging Department at Iatropolis Diagnostic Center, where she contributed to the implementation of international protocols and the development of modern diagnostic services. Since 2017, she has been practicing privately while also serving as a Breast Radiologist at Metropolitan Hospital in Athens. Her daily clinical work involves the diagnosis and management of a wide spectrum of benign and malignant breast diseases, with a particular focus on early detection and personalized patient care.
Dr. Vrettou has participated in numerous national and international conferences, both as an attendee and as a speaker, presenting topics such as mammography, elastography, and breast imaging in pregnancy and lactation. She is an member of several scientific societies, including the European Society of Breast Imaging (EUSOBI), the European Society of Mastology (EUSOMA), and the Hellenic Society of Breast Radiologists.
Her clinical and scientific interests are centered on advancing diagnostic accuracy, improving patient outcomes, and promoting multidisciplinary collaboration in breast cancer care.
