This year’s Congress focuses mainly on liver, biliary and pancreas cancers. World

Health Organization (WHO) Reports, indicate East African region as having one of the

highest prevalence of hepatocellular cancer due to chronic hepatitis B endemicity

and alcoholism.

Over the last decade we have witnessed a dramatic increase in

cholangiocarcinoma and pancreas cancer. This calls for a platform to address the care

standards for these cancers through inter-disciplinary collaborations.

We are extremely privileged to have leading international experts, researchers,

educators, pioneers and thought leaders to guide us in the management of these

often challenging malignancies.

Dr. Mangat is a senior interventional radiologist from Singapore National University. He has extensive experience in Radio frequency ablation (RFA) of solid tumors. Prof Dervenis is the President of Greek HPB society and the president elect of Europe Africa Hepatopancreaticobiliary Association (EAHPBA). Once again we are deeply honored to have Prof Smith and Prof Jonas Heads of Depart of Surgery at University of Witwatersrand and CapeTown respectively.
