Andreas Karydas was born in Athens on February 16, 1983, and grew up in Patissia. He attended the Experimental School of the University of Athens (1988–2000), graduating with a grade of 19.7/20 in the National High School Leaving Certificate and ranked 69th in the Medical School of the University of Athens. In the 1999-2000 academic year, he won first place in the Physics competition of the Panhellenic Union of Physicists. He completed his studies in Medicine in 2006.
He specialized in Internal Medicine at the Naval Hospital of Athens (2008–2010) and served as a doctor at the 79th Health Battalion of the National Guard in Samos in 2011. He continued his specialization in Cardiology at the Asclepius Hospital in Voula (2011–2016) and received his specialization in Cardiology in 2016. That same year, he commenced practice as a cardiologist.
Between 2008 and 2013, he conducted his doctoral thesis on Coronary Artery Disease at the Onassis Cardiac Surgery Center and received his PhD from the Medical School of the University of Athens in 2013. He has actively participated in scientific conferences and publications.
He served as an auxiliary doctor in the Cardiology Department of the Psychiatric Hospital of Attica (2016–2019) and as a permanent Assistant Cardiologist at the Cardiology Department of Halkidiki General Hospital (2019–2022). Since January 2022, he has been serving in the Echocardiology Department at Metropolitan Hospital in Piraeus.
