Our knowledge about the functions of the skin is continuously growing and confirms its significant role in the health of humans. Skin contributes in the body’s defense and in regulating its temperature, while it highlights systemic disorders and abnormal conditions of other organs, and externalizes feelings.

Pediatric Dermatology

Pediatricians examine children with dermatological disorders daily and either treat them on their own or refer them to a pediatric dermatologist. This frequency is indicated by the fact that about 7% of children that are examined in the outpatients clinics of children’s hospitals present with a dermatological disorder.

The Metropolitan Hospital Pediatric Department runs a Regular Pediatric Dermatology Clinic, which examines, diagnoses and treats all types of skin disorders.
