The Breast Center of Metropolitan Hospital has been operating since 2014 as the first fully integrated center in Greece dedicated exclusively to the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of breast diseases.
It functions as a “One-Stop Breast Unit”, where women undergo advanced imaging tests (Digital Mammography, Tomosynthesis, High-Resolution Ultrasound, Elastography) and clinical examination by specialized breast surgeons. When necessary, immediate and painless biopsy is performed for rapid diagnosis.
The Center operates two closely interconnected departments that work seamlessly together:
- Breast Imaging & Diagnostics Department
- Breast Surgery Clinic

The Center’s success is built on the collaborative expertise of its multidisciplinary team, which includes highly specialized radiologists, breast surgeons, medical oncologists, and radiation oncologists, supported by experienced nursing and paramedical staff.
With its long-standing commitment to excellence, Metropolitan Hospital has invested in state-of-the-art medical technology, in line with international standards. Thanks to this infrastructure and expertise, the Breast Center quickly earned European certifications, establishing itself as a national reference center.
The Center’s primary goal is the early detection and effective treatment of breast cancer, a common condition that can be successfully managed when diagnosed promptly. Diagnosis is carried out with cutting-edge imaging equipment, under the supervision of expert radiologists and breast surgeons, who also provide clear explanations of results—ensuring women remain fully informed and actively engaged in decisions about their breast health.
