Born in Athens in 1953.

He enrolled at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Rome, after examinations in 1971 and received his medical degree from the University of Rome in July 1978. His doctoral thesis topic was “The modifications of bowman's capsule epithelial wall in relationship with sexual hormones”.

In the autumn of 1978 his degree was recognized in Greece after sitting for examinations at the Medical School of Athens.

From January 1979 to January 1980 he did his military service in the Greek Army (Special Forces and artillery) as a physician (reduced service, 1-year tour as a citizen supporting family members).

From 18/03/1980 to 04/07/1984 he worked at the Radiology Department of Alexandra Hospital in the afternoons to complete the time required to be awarded a specialty certificate in Diagnostic Radiology, while at the same time he worked at the CT Department of Aretaieio Hospital in the mornings from 29/07/1982 up to 09/01/1984.

On 09/01/1984 he received a certificate of competence for the CT scanner by Prof. K. Papavassiliou.

On 12/09/1984 he received a specialty certificate in Radiology, upon exams.

In December 1984 he submitted to the Secretariat of the Faculty of Medicine his PhD thesis on the topic “Computed tomography guided biopsies of internal tumors”.

From 23/07/1984 to 10/09/1984 he worked as an intern at the Agios Savvas Hospital Radiology Department.

From 11/09/1984 to 28/01/1986 he worked as a radiology specialist at the Agios Savvas Hospital CT department.

From 29/01/1986 to 21/02/1989 he worked as a Registrar B, National Healthcare Service doctor at the Agios Savvas Hospital CT Department.

From 21/02/1989 to 19/06/1995 he worked as a Registrar A, National Healthcare Service doctor at the Agios Savvas Hospital CT Department.

On 29/06/1988 he received his PhD from the Medical School of the University of Athens, with grade magna cum laude.

He served as an elected Secretary and member of the Agios Savvas Hospital Scientific Committee, from November 1986 to November 1989.

On 17/09/1990 he received a qualification certificate in MRI after 6-month training at the Aretaeion Hospital MRI Department.

From 20/06/1995 to 31/07/1996 he served as head (Director, without the presence of other registrars) at the CT Department of Asklepieion Hospital in Voula.

From 01/08/1996 to 07/08/2003, he served as Director of the Asklepieion Hospital CT Department.

From 08/08/2003 to date he serves as Coordinator/Director of the CT Department at Agia Olga Hospital in Nea Ionia.

On 27/03/2000 he received a qualification in the use of computers after 2-month training at the FUTURESKIDS school.

On 05/07/2002 he received a certificate of attendance and active participation in MRI exams at the Aretaeion Hospital MRI Department after a one-month training period (from 01/06/2002 to 30/06/2002).

On 08/11/2002 he was appointed a regular member of the Greek NHS Directors’ Selection Board for the specialties of Radiology and Radiation Oncology, at KAT Hospital.

By decision no. 87/17/3/2005 of the meeting of the 2nd Regional Health and Welfare System of Attica, he was appointed and served as Director of the Medical Service of Agia Olga General Hospital in Nea Ionia until 07/10/2007.

By act no. 2037/4.2.05 of the President of the 2nd Regional Health and Welfare System of Attica, he was appointed board member at Agia Olga General Hospital in Nea Ionia.

By decision no. 344/8-5-2009 decision of the Hospital’s Director, he was appointed and served as head of the Lab Sector until 06/02/2015.

Since 24/06/2010, the Scientific Committee of the Postgraduate Studies Program in Interventional Radiology has appointed him as a supervisor for graduate thesis papers.

Since June 2010, he has been appointed by the Ministry of Health as an alternate member of the committee for the radiology specialty exams.

Since 28/07/2014, he has been appointed by the Ministry of Health as a regular member for the interventional radiology specialty exams.

With OPRN no. Β3ΚΓΘ-Ω6Π, he was appointed a member of the Lab Sector for the IKA doctors’ performance assessments.

He has been an appointed Director of the Medical Service by a decision of the 1st Health District since 15/03/2015.

From 12/12/2015 to 05/05/2016 he served as an acting Director at Konstantopouleio Hospital.

Since 2016 he has been a member of the Board as Director of the Hospital’s Medical Service.

He received a qualification certificate in Interventional Radiology by the Ministry of Health on 07/01/2013.

From 1986 to date he has attended (based on certificates) 98 Greek and international conferences and seminars.

During 1980-2016 he participated in Greek and foreign conferences with 220 scientific papers, has published 103 scientific papers in Greek and foreign journals and has given a total number of 219 speeches.

He was the Scientific Head of a research program in 1993.

He has written 12 articles in 12 Greek books.

He has written 1 article in 1 foreign language book.

There are 197 references in international bibliography (citations) from his 26 foreign language publications, up to 2014.
